4D Rules and Mechanics
As with other gambling games, only those over 18 years old can play 4D. Bettors must choose their preferred 4-digit number/s between 0000 to 9999 and wager on it on or before the draw day. Generally, 4D lottery draws take place on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 6:30 PM, and bettors can place their bets until 6:00 PM on draw days.
4D Toto players need to decide whether they will place large or small bets and which type of bet they wish to place. There are five ways bettors can play the lottery in Malaysia and Singapore, and these bet types generally differ in how they are called in the two countries.
Straight Play/Ordinary Entry – They will only place a wager on the 4-digit number they have selected.
Roll Play/4D Roll Entry – They will place a wager on ten 4-digit entries. They will have to pick three digits and one rolling number. The “R” symbol can be used to replace either the first or last number of their 4D number. For instance, they want to place 123R. In Roll Play, they will bet on 1230, 1232, 1233, …, 1239. On the other hand, if they want to place R123, they will bet on 0123, 1123, 2123, …, 9123.
Permutation Play/System Entry – Bettors will place wagers on any possible permutations of their 4D number. This means that they can wager on up to 28 combinations of their 4-digit number.
mBox Play/iBet Entry – This type of bet is very similar to Permutation Play but requires a lower stake and pays less. Lottery gamblers have the option to extend their RM1/SGD1 wager to a wide variety of combinations of their 4-digit preferred number with mBox Play.
Lucky Pick Play/Quick Pick –This type of play allows bettors to have their 4D number generated by the system.
