According to sports expert Martin-Green, Manchester United is now the bookmaker’s favorite to win the English Premier League.

A pair of seemingly beleaguered coaches desperately seek a victory against Spurs on Sunday when Manchester United visits Manchester City in an English Premier League clash in London. It appeared as if Spurs were the clear second favorites to emerge as champions in the competition, only to see them lose at the final hurdle in their two matches for much of last season.

Despite a solid start to the new year, both manager Harry Redknapp and his team have looked vulnerable at times to the sort of pressure that can define top sides. They have not been able to withstand the attacking style of the Red Devils (Manchester United), particularly at Old Trafford, where the former England international took over after Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down as manager. Redknapp has brought in several experienced players, most notably defender Ashley Williams. Nevertheless, it appears that the side is still missing the attacking spark that made them title contenders last season.

The most significant change that either manager will have to lift the trophy comes during the season’s penultimate round buildup. Many experts believe that these away games, especially against top sides such as Chelsea and Manchester United, will prove to be the straws that break the camel’s back and decide the champions.

Scheduling these away games means that both managers will have less time to prepare their teams for the league season. However, with how Man Utd has started the season, it looks more like the Blues may miss out again. Injuries have hit the starting XI throughout the season, with goalkeeper David James, center-forward Michael Owen, and defender Rio Ferdinand requiring long-term treatment to overcome their problems.

Meanwhile, at the opposite end of the EPL table, there is no doubt that Manchester United is on course to be crowned champions. Despite missing numerous cup matches after Alex Ferguson retired as their manager, new signings Angel di Maria and Wayne Rooney have done enough to put United in pole position, having impressed during their debut appearances.

The question is, can Manchester United still bring home the bacon?
