In the world of Internet marketing our plates are pretty full, with all we have to do, like link building, keyword research, website promotion, etc… there just is not enough time in the day. Probably the most time consuming task is writing content. Not only for our niche sites but also for article marketing.

Now, before the flagship bloggers start screaming this is not meant to replace your beautifully and thoughtfully written posts! This is meant more for the money sites.

Outsourcing is a great way to save precious time and brain cells by hiring others to write content and articles and especially for those of us who have several niche sites where writing content becomes an overwhelming task.

Here is a list of the best content and article outsourcing sites for content management on your websites and blogs.

Because these sites provide original content that is copyrighted to you, you can use them for on-site content development, as well as for article marketing and submit using Article Marketer, to Ezine Articles and all the other article sites without being penalized in any way.

You can also use Copyscape to check the content for originality, all though these sites guarantee originality and copyright to you.

Some of these writing outsources are really expensive and some are quite cheap, depending on your needs there is something for everyone.

Turnaround usually within a couple of hours and they are copyscape checked by the website.

For most Internet marketing endeavors there are two main subjects of great interest, SEO and traffic and images are powerful tools for both of those goals.

1. They are really good for the look of the site design, look and enhance the visitor experience, especially with product guides and tutorials of any kind.

2.  They are great for on-site SEO because they add keyword relevancy via image alt tags and this includes any header graphics for site-wide keyword relevancy.

3. They can also bring you lots of website traffic and money.

Search engines cannot read images you must use alt tags for descriptions, which should be keyword relevant to the page. By the way, it is blackhat to give inaccurate descriptions for the purpose of SEO trickery in the Alt Tags.

Image HTML Code:

<img src=”http://mydomain.com/image1.jpg” alt=”Keywords- Descriptions”>

Link Image to URL code:

<a href=”http://mydomain.com/”><img src=”http://mydomain.com/image1.jpg”  alt=”Keywords- Descriptions”></a>

The above code is for images that are hosted on your servers. With Wordpress you can upload images directly from your computer via the Browser Uploader and the Title area in the Image dashboard is the Alt Tag.

The Traffic Connection via Images

The best benefit of images is traffic. Google often shows image results when people search particular keywords.

Lately I think they must really be doing more of this than before because I have 3 new sites that have been getting a lot of traffic from Google Images and its converting to sales.

To make sure my images show up in correct keyword search results I name the image file in detail, for example:

SonyEricsonMobilePhone.jpg
SonyEricson350.jpg

And, I also make sure the Alt Tag is there with the correct descriptive words.

I launched a new site last week and within 4 days I had something like 2,000 visitors all coming via Google Images and 6 sales and that is pretty good for a new site. I think this is especially good for shopping sites that use product images.

What I like to do is place at least 2-3 images on my content pages that are related to the topic of that page. They really make the content pages look better and more professional, especially with guide type pages.

I also make sure to have several images on my home pages like around the welcome message, that is a great place to provide keyword relevace for the sitewide keywords.

Is this you dealing with website content and article writing?

Then here are some really great goodies that will restore some peace and sanity.

As a follow up to my post 16 Website Content Ideas, here is a great resource to get 1000 Free PLR articles that I found when perusing the net, and since I am a cheap skate, I was looking for PLR that was quality and free and I found it!!

What is PLR?

Just to review PLR is Private Label Rights, PLR is usually sold or in this case given away and this is an article license that provides content that you can do WHATEVER you want with, including, edit, rewrite, take credit for and republish verbatim as your own, but DO NOT do the last one.

Goodie #1

1,000 FREE PLR ARTICLES – This PLR pack has tons of niches and topics and many of the articles have really quality information and are pretty detailed.

No Catches just 3 steps: 1. They ask for your email to send the PLR. 2. There is a sales page to some other products (actually look pretty good) that you can skip at the bottom of the page if you wish. 3. Get an email with your PLR download link, well worth that effort!

Using PLR Effectively:

Always, Always rewrite PLR. Keep the substance but regroup sentences, change common words, rewrite in your own words, etc.. to make the articles unique. Remember that you don’t know how many others have used the PLR and they should not be used as exact duplicates but used to make life easier not having to write content from scratch.

I found a couple of articles that I actually cut up and re-pieced together to make a great page of content for my computer niche site.

As long as you rewrite it, PLR can be used for Article Marketing as well as website content.

Hell of a lot easier than writing from scratch!

Goodie #2

Free Duplicate Content Checker

DUPE FREE PRO – Compares articles side by side and gives you a percentage of the duplicity between articles so you can check your original PLR with the rewritten for duplication percentage.

1. Copy and paste original and rewritten article into separate areas

2. Hit the COMPARE button – Bam! the software gives a percentage of duplicity, VERY COOL!!

It even highlights the duplicated phrases for easy changes.

And, this tool calculates keyword density for any phrase or keyword you put in!!!

I would suggest you get your free copy of Dupe Free Pro NOW, I doubt they will be giving it away forever, frankly I am surprised it is free now.

Now, I honestly cannot advise on the ideal percentage, but I shoot for anything below 15%, if anyone disagrees with this number please feel free to comment and give your input.

What do you guys think?

I got an email the other day from Sam Cabal, the creator of a service for webmasters for website ranking analysis and he asked me to check it out. While I get lots of these kinds of emails and offers to check out Internet marketing products, this one really stood out.

Review My Web is a free service and webmaster tool that analyzes your top competition against the website you enter, in order to further your website ranking efforts. Just enter your URL and enter two competing websites of your choice and you will receive an email with a link to your report.

I suggest for the competition websites, you enter FIRST two URL’s that are sitting on PAGE ONE in Google SERPS for the keywords you are trying to rank for, these are your biggest competitors. The only exception to this is if you have really top gun sites in 1 and 2 position in your SERP results, then it’s better to go down the list to the smaller websites, generally if you have a smaller niche site, it is virtually impossible to compete with a BIG GUN. For example, for the laptop niche, you have sites like pcmag.com and cnet.com, very difficult to to outrank these HUGE websites, but there are always smaller ones down the list on page 1!

Website ranking report rates your competitiveness and details where the competition is beating you in:

  1. Traffic Rank Comparison
  2. Backlinks Comparison - in Google, Yahoo and Ask.com
  3. Coverage Comparison – Your total pages indexed vs. the competitions in 4 major search engines, Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask.com
  4. Social Media Analysis – Compares your blog coverage vs. your competition
  5. Competitive Site Analytics - Best One! - Compares your PR, domain expiration and creation and most important Meta Tags, Site Wide Keywords, H1, H2, H3 Tag Data and Keyword Density against your competitors and it writes out all the details.

Detailed ReportExcellent!

Review My Web provides written details on your website ranking performance, including a review of the above findings with the actions you need to take to improve for:

  • Search Engine Page Rank
  • Backlinks
  • Indexed Page Coverage
  • Site Design
  • Social News – Blogs

I was very impressed with this webmaster tool, it was accurate, and it provides crucial information to help your website ranking by identifying problem areas and a glimpse to what the competition is doing to beat you and it’s FREE!!

BTW, my report went to spam so check your spam file if you don’t see the report fairly soon after your submit your info, it comes from Review My Web as the sender.

Thank you Sam for sending me the heads up, you have created a great service!!!

One of the most important parts of a good affiliate marketing website is original and valuable written content. I do not want to rehash the same old argument about the importance of content, I will stick with my stand that good content is:

  1. Good for your visitors
  2. Good for ranking in serps (search engine rank pages)
  3. Good as a keyword density tool
  4. Good for Internal linking and on-site SEO
  5. Good to distinguish your sites from:
    a) The same links and content that the merchants you are affiliating for have on their sites.
    b) Other similar affiliate websites, like BANS, where many other webmasters are using them.

It is very true that thin affiliate marketing websites do not do well in search engines. Here is a quote from Google Webmaster Help Center

“Our Webmaster Guidelines advise you to create websites with original content that adds value for users. This is particularly important for sites that participate in affiliate programs. Typically, affiliate websites feature product descriptions that appear on sites across that affiliate network. As a result, sites featuring mainly content from affiliate networks can suffer in Google’s search rankings, because they do not have unique content that differentiates them from other sites on the web. Unique, relevant content provides value to users and distinguishes your site from other affiliates, making it more likely to rank well in Google search result pages.”

Content along with a good link building strategy is the formula to get your sites to rank high in the SERPS.

But, content can be one of the most daunting tasks for affiliate marketers, especially if you have a store type site, it is hard to find ideas for written content, sometimes you really have to think outside the box. So here are some ideas for website content:

Website Content Ideas:

1. PLR - PLR stands for Private Label Rights. These are articles you buy or sometimes can get for free and use as you wish, including publish it verbatim as your own. Do not just copy and paste PLR stuff into your website, much better to tweak and rewrite them a little to make them more unique and original because you never know how many other people have bought the same article.

The Best Spinner is your best friend when it comes to PLR, as it is the greatest tool to create tons of unique versions of articles with east. Has a comprehensive and unprecedented Thesaurus, that replaces not just words, but entire phrases, and with a great synonym drop down menu. It is loaded with tons of features and extras and is a marketers dream come true for spinning content quickly and easily. This is a must see product, learn more at Best Spinner.

This sure is easier than writing from scratch :-) .

Good PLR Sites:

1. All Private Label Content – Good one. Very Cheap and lots of subjects.
2. PLR Mini Mart – Very Cheap article packs on tons of topics.
3. thePLRarticles.com – Not too much of a selection but cheap.
4. Constant Content – Varies from cheap to REALLY expensive.

2. Guides and Tutorials - Every type of product can be fitted to some kind of guide or tutorial and more than one. Even if you are selling clothes you can have a page on size charts, types of clothing for different shapes, hottest fashion trends, buying guide, etc…

3. How-To - How-to’s are great. Just use your imagination, a how-to can be created for just about anything.

4. Side Subjects – You can write about sub-subjects within your main one. For instance if you are selling CD’s you can have pages about music artists, music industry. If selling furniture you can talk about home decorating, if selling cooking ware you can provide recipes etc.. the possibilities are endless.

5. Product Reviews – If you don’t know the product do some research and compile something good.

6. Current Trends/Events related to the niche.

7. Trivia - Trivia is a popular subject and easy to create.

8. Interesting Facts and/or Myths – related to the niche/subject.

9. Histories – on the products or subject of your site.

10. What Returning Visitor’s Have To Say – make it up if you have to.

11. About Pages - add a page detailing what your site is about.

12. Biographies – good one if relevant to your niche.

13. Advantages of Buying Online – This one is universal and applies to any niche and or product. Customize it to your subject, write about the savings of online shopping vs. retail, good opportunity for keywords.

14. Lists - People love lists and they are easy to create. IE: Best, Worst, Most Bought, Most Popular, Most Read, Least Liked, 10 ways to…, 5 Methods for…, 8 Types of, etc… the possibilities here are endless.

15. Feeds – A great way to add regularly updated content to your website. These services provide free news widgets and content feeds that will create the most current news on your sites related to your subject/niche.

Free feed services:

1. Feedzilla - Endless topics and subjects
2. RSS Feed Reader
3. Spring Widgets – Creates cool widgets for news feeds and allows you to create a news widget from any feed or blog URL you enter, even this one ;-)
4. Sphere

16. Content Generating Software – Frank at OP Tempo has created Blog Content Wizard, a software that creates content automatically based on keywords you enter and not just for blogs. I have not tried it but it looks promising.

Ways to Find Ideas for Website Content

1. Research keywords to find content ideas. When you enter the main product/niche keyword of your sites, phrases like how-to whatever, best whatever… will come up for what people are searching for within that niche.

Also, remember to research the best keywords for those content pages as you want them to rank for popular keywords and this way you will be all over the SERPS and get lots more targeted traffic. Learn more at 6 Step Checklist for On-Site SEO.

2. Visit your competitors sites to get inspirations for content and especially the top gun sites (do not copy).

3. Look at what popular bloggers in your niche are talking about.

4. Visit article sites to get ideas from existing articles. Ezine Articles, Article Dashboard, Article Factory, Article City and Buzzle are some good ones. (Do not copy articles, this is a big nono)

What content tips and ideas can you guys offer? Where do you find inspirations for content? How do you fill pages on your affiliate sites?

I wanted to talk about Google Webmaster Tools for a minute. If you have not taken full advantage of all that GWT has to offer in your Internet marketing

efforts, I strongly recommend you do.

First, you should create a central Google cccounts account and this way you can access all of Google’s tools, like GWT, Analytics, Adsense and more at: Create Google Account

Always submit your sites and sitemaps to GWT once they are complete. Forget all the crap you hear about “let the SE’s discover your site on their own.” This is stupid and you don’t have to wait. Google wants you to submit to them, they ask you to and recommend that you do, see it here.

Add Your Sites to GWT here

Besides submitting your sites for indexing and crawling, GWT offers lots of valuable tools to analyze your websites and their performance in Google, as well as detect any problems that may occur with them.

OVERVIEW TAB

In overview you can see how often your site is crawled and more important you can see the INDEX STATS.

Benefits: You can see which webpages are indexed, the current cache of your site, links to your home page and more.

DIAGNOSIS TAB

Web Crawl

Let’s you see any problems that Google had with crawling specific pages on your site, URL not found, HTTP errors and more (It will show those you blocked by robots.txt but you can ignore those).

A couple of days ago, Google announced a great new feature added to this section called “Linked From“, this will show where the source URL that the broken pages are being linked from, both externally and internally. Learn more about this feature at Google’s Webmaster Blog.

Benefits: Allows you to see real accessibility problems with your website pages that you need to address to make sure those webpages are indexable and working properly.

Content Analysis

Shows potential problems with Meta Tags and duplicate Meta Tags that may be occurring on your website pages. This just proves the point I hammered in Complete Guide to Meta Tags, that Google does pay attention to those. Contrary to some people’s beliefs that they are worthless, they need to be personalized and customized for EVERY page of your website.

Benefits: Allows you to optimize Meta Tags and shows you those you may have missed, as in duplicate Meta Tags.

STATISTICS TAB

Top Search Queries will show you 2 things:

1. Traffic – What keywords are being used by searchers to find your site

2. Impressions – The top 20 search queries in which your site appeared, and the percentage of the top 20 queries represented by each search.

Both of these also show your position in SERPS for those keywords/search terms.

Benefits: Essential analysis of what keywords your site is showing up for and ranking in.

What Googlebot Sees

This one is very useful and will show you 3 Things:

1. Anchor Text Phrases in External Backlinks to your site!

2. Keywords appearing ON your site

3. Keywords used in anchor text in external links to your site

Benefits: Huge benefits! Allows you to be sure your website is optimized for the keywords and phrases you want it too. Seeing anchor text phrases and keywords to make sure you are anchoring correctly in your backlinks for the keywords you want to rank for.

LINKS TAB

Pages with External Links:

This is a great one and shows you numbers of as well as all the pages on your site that have external links pointing to them.

Benefit: This is good for analyzing where you need work on building more deep page backlinks for your site. Remember when link building it is important to link not only to your home page but also to deep pages as well, learn more at: Article Marketing Backlink Techniques

Pages with Internal Links:

This one is to analyze your internal link building for on-site SEO. Remember that linking internally to pages within your own site is very important, not only for allowing Google to relate your pages with keywords but also to lower the bounce rate and allow for easier navigation for your visitors. Google wrote about good internal link structure on their webmaster’s blog just this week.

Benefits: Huge! Allows you to make sure that internal link structure is optimal and where it may need work.

OTHER TABS

Sitemaps

This is where you can see any errors or warnings about your sitemap that Google found. This is important analysis for indexing your site pages correctly.

TOOLS TAB

The Tools Tab has lots of features. A couple of important ones to be noted are:

Analyze Robots

Check your robots.txt file and if Google was able to access it without problems.

Set Preferred Domain

Here you can set how you want your domain to display in the index. You can set all occurrences of your domain to be either http://www.yourdomain OR http://yourdomain (without the www).

Benefits: This is important because people will link to you in different ways so, if you set a preference, you let Google know which URL you prefer and avoid any duplicate content issues that may occur.

If you have a blog you know that you get trackbacks, which are alerts, whenever anyone is linking to your site’s content, and that is some of the best information you can get, to see who and what’s being linked to. If both the linker and linkee are using Wordpress then the trackback comes to you automatically. However, if the linker blog is not using wordpress, and is using another blogging platform then you may not get the alert, unless the trackback url was specially added and with Blogger, for instance, I do not believe that function even exists. For static websites these auto trackbacks do not exist at all.

This is where Google Alerts comes in. One of the best free webmaster tools, Google Alerts will notify you via email whenever a backlink to your sites/blogs shows up on another site or blog.

These alerts include everything:

1. Links directly to your website pages/blogs

2. When articles you write get republished on other sites that include backlinks to your sites in the resource box. This is also a great way to make sure that the republishers are following the article republishing rules by keeping your articles and links intact, as they are supposed to.

3. Whenever someone social bookmarks your sites and blogs.

4. Virtually any mention of your site’s on the web.

Set Up a Google Alert:

1. Go to Google Alerts and either log in to to your Google Account or set up an alert directly from the landing page.

2. Search Terms - Add the search terms for your alert, the best option for this is the HOME PAGE URL of your site. Also, you can set up a separate alert for your site name if you want, but then you will get emails when ANY word within your site name appears on the web.

3. Type – Choose COMPREHENSIVE

4. Choose How Often you will receive emails, I choose AS IT HAPPENS.

5. Enter your email

Repeat for each site and blog you own!!

That’s it, takes 2 minutes and you will be getting some very useful info!!

Do you guys use GA? Any tips for search terms?

By, JR

Last week I sat down to do some link building and write two articles. Unfortunately for me I started reading email and then I got all caught up in it and the emails and that led to other useless stupidity and before I knew it 3 & 1/2 hours had passed, wasted on sheer and utter stupidity!!

I know this has happened to you guys as well so don’t even try to deny it!

It is important to address time management when working at home because we need to have a lot more discipline than working for a boss. When working at home with, I hope legitimate work from home jobs, we have the freedom to choose what we do, when we work and there is no one to answer to but our selves.

Also, I am sure that many of you have full time jobs, kids and spouses that allow only a limited amount of time for Internet marketing and building your online business and so the time you do have is just that much more precious.

So, after I lost those 3 hours and I knew that I have done this before, I decided to implement a better plan.

Working at Home Time and Task Management Plan:

1. Everyday write down a list of tasks that must be completed the following day. Be realistic and make sure these can all be completed in the time available.

2. Don’t put to many complicated brain draining activities on the same list. Like, Tuesday: write 5 articles and 1 blog post, this is too much of the same thing.

Try to mix the more creative and exhausting tasks with easier more technical tasks, like link building and article writing, blog post and link building, directory submissions and forum posting, website content and keyword research, etc…

3. Have the list sitting where it will slap you in the face as you sit down at your work station.

4. Work first on those tasks and nothing else until they are done. No email or other distracting activities!

5. Commit to beat yourself senseless unless you stick to the plan!smilies

I have been doing this since last week and I cannot believe how much more productive and efficient I am. Also, I find that my work has improved because I am doing these important tasks FIRST when I am fresh and clear! winking smileys My articles are better and easier to write and I was able to add some good content to one of my websites after weeks of promising myself that I would while spending hours on inane activities. And, after I am done with those tasks then I can spend as long as I want on email and whatever without any guilt!

What do you guys think? How do manage your time? What tips do you have to be more efficient and productive when working at home?
