If you’re goal is to make money online free, then inevitably you realize that you need more than one site, which many of us all ready have. Managing a wide array of websites is difficult and can get pretty crazy, since we are usually working alone in our online business ventures and do not have a team or marketers on hand, or even a secretary.

As I have said several times, I often wish I could clone myself

Because of this reality, it is crucial to work smarter and not harder!

Wordpress and Blogging Versus Building Money Sites

Wordpress is a great CMS (content management platform), referred to as  blogging software, but it can be used to build any kind of sites, not just those for the traditional purpose of blogging, and that includes making multiple money sites for free.  Traditional blogging is a much more personal endeavor that is mostly about connecting with readers and attending to subscribers. It is a social entity.

A blog can be about information, education, flagship for a particular niche or even just a personal life blog, whatever the topic, most bloggers “care” a lot of their audience versus the money sites where the goal is have them click on Adsense, or to perform whatever action is needed to make money.

While bloggers will make money, you don’t have to be a traditional blogger to make money online, in fact the two venues are quite different. Most traditional bloggers want to be famous in their niche, and blogging is essentially a social entity on the web, while real Internet marketers could care less, we just want cash, :-) and in reality, if you want to make money online for free using Wordpress is a great option.

And,

Wordpress software is an easy and very user-friendly platform to build niche sites quickly and easily for the purpose of making money online. Using Wordpress over static website software is a much better alternative, as it is easy to create, update and promote content virally in Wordpress than other website software and it is a great alternative to make money online for free.

So,

Since most marketers will have a multitude of money sites, as opposed to bloggers who usually focus on one blog, it is important to be able to build and launch these money sites quickly as time is always an issue and then get on with the all important promotion of those sites.

In this post, I am referring to using Wordpress as simply a platform to build numerous money sites quickly  in order to make money online in an efficient and time saving manner, and NOT necessarily for the traditional blogging venue as described above, all though the two can overlap and most of these tips can be used to build traditional blogs quickly as well.

7 Tips to Build and Launch Multiple Wordpress Money Blogs Quickly

1. Quickly Adding Wordpress Platform to Domains

Use cPanel in your hosting account to add Wordpress to your domain. All cPanels have automatic upload either via Fantastico or just named Wordpress. Takes 1 minute to upload all the necessary files to begin building your money site. This can also be done manually, but who needs that when it can be done in minutes automatically and correctly, so no files are forgotten.

2. Familiar Wordpress Themes

After some experience with Wordpress, most everyone has a favorite theme, at least I do. This is the theme that you know, you have played with it, maybe gone into the Editor files and know how to edit the PHP files, and CSS. If you don’t I suggest that you find one, or maybe two and learn them well.

This is the theme that is best used for the money sites and to make money online for free, as it will become a breeze to update the site and edit and style it according to specific site needs.

Also, always use professional themes and layouts that are pleasing to the eye and are not broken in some way, where for example Adsense is overlapping onto content, LOOKS REALLY LAME and will not aid you to make more money online.

3. Easy Plugin Install Option for Multiple Sites

As with themes there are standard plugins that we all use and need on all of our Wordpress domains.

Some of mine are
All-In-One SEO, Wordpress Automatic Database Backup, Google XML Sitemaps (sitemaps for Google), Dagon Design Sitemaps (sitemaps for visitors), Home Page Excerpts, WP-Cache, Similar Posts, Collapsing Categories and Akismet.

Yours maybe different.

To easily manage multiple site plugins, use your cPanel hosting File Manager

You don’t have to upload the plugins one by one to each of your money sites Wordpress blogs.

Go to your File Manager in cPanel of your hosting and copy the files from an existing site that has the same plugins. You can just copy over the files an existing domain’s Plugins folder to another.

Takes just a few minutes. Then activate them in Wordpress Admin.

By the way, you can do the same with other standard files, like Robots.txt, Disclaimers and Terms and Privacy Policies. Then just edit the site details and url’s from the cPanel file manager.

4. Wordpress Admin Setting

Once the theme and plugins are uploaded, I can quickly go through the Settings in Admin Dashboard of Wordpress and set it up the same way I always do, when you’ve done it several times, it’s a breeze because you know the interface so well. This includes, setting up sidebar widgets, footer links and other stuff.

5. Content Shortcuts

The content quality level for money sites is not necessarily as important as that for the “blogging” or flagship sites. It really isn’t. The focus is to make money and not rivet readers (unless you have a review type site where you really want to pursuade someone to buy a product) the focus is monetization.

And, in order to make that money online and for free you want to target the correct longtails for as many inner pages as possible to get the most possible free search engine traffic to that site, as search traffic buys. If you need to learn more about accurate keyword research, then please visit this guide Step-By-Step Keyword Research.

For websites that you build to make money online you want someone to leave your site using an available form of monetazation, Adsense click, Banner click, or any other type of adds that you have, so Ad placement is crucial.

I am not saying to write crap…but do not worry so much about it. The most crucial aspect of content pages on money niche sites is keyword research because along with Wordpress, which is a free software, that search traffic is also free, and so you will be making money online for free.

Find good longtails and write posts about those, it’s the best way to get a long term stream of that previous search engine traffic. More details on that here: Higher Rankings with Proper Keyword Reasearch.

Time Saving Keyword Research

Don’t over think it.

Use Free SEO Book KW Tool, search the main niche keywords of the site and note all the long tail results.

Then, Google, allintitle:”KW” to see the competition, for those longtails.

Crunch The Numbers:

a. Search numbers can be low for inner pages, as long as some exist.

b. Competition, I go for under 20,000 and 1st page of SERPS does not have more than 3 PR3+ pages (usually longtails have fairly low competition)

It should take less than an hour to get a list of several good longtails to target for content pages.

Then you can start creating some posts that target those longtails, usually 5 pages of inner content are enough to start with as you will want to update on a regular basis.

Content Tips To Manage Multiple Sites

Golden rule for content – Nauseatingly long posts work best!
If you want to make money online for free then you need that search traffic and 800+ word content pages on money sites attract search engines, and allow for appropriate keyword targeting, NOT stuffing, but targeting, as a 800 + word page will naturally mention them without needing to over do it. Also, because these are money sites, you want to have more content than affiliate pages or links, especially with a  new site, so those very long posts really boost favoritism from Google because they add value.

In reality, if you have several money sites writing these kinds of long pages by hand will be extremely time consuming and draining.

Save Time with Quality PLR

Using quality PLR (public label rights articles) that is written well and in good English will save you loads of time. But make sure that you do not just copy them into your sites. Because so many people use PLR, you have to rewrite them to make them unique and original, this is very important, as you do not want build a scraper looking site. You can buy PLR articles and you can also get them for free, just make sure they are quality articles and not a load of crap.

You can rewrite the PLR by hand, or use The Best Spinner, which I highly recommend you all check out because it is an excellent tool, and it now features the ability to post spun articles directly to your Wordpress blogs from the tool’s dashboard.

Good PLR Resources

Tons of PLR Downloads for All Niches – Excellent resource put together by George at Serradinho Blog.

Free PLR Articles – Excellent resource from Jonathan Scott, lots of niches, and well written content

5000 + Free PLR Packs

All Private Label Content – Some nice free packs

There are tons more sites with good PLR content online, you can also Google your niche + PLR and you will find relevant articles.

6. Quick Google Indexing for Finished Money Sites

Once your site is ready it is crucial to attract the search engines as quickly as possible and get the website indexed, especially by Google. Submit a content page (not home page) or two to Mixx, Jumptags and Stumble. Digg works great too, as long as there is an appropriate category for the niche. Google will always notice your site via those venues.

Every time I do this, my site is indexed within 2 days, all other on-site issues being equal, like proper on-site SEO, clean design and no tech issues.

7. Ongoing Promotion Methods

Then I submit the XML sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools, write a couple of articles for it to submit to article directories, especially Ezine Articles, add some more social bookmarks, a few directory links, and let it rest and age for a couple of months before building any more links or doing heavy promotion. In the meantime I keep adding more content regularly.

Using the above methods I can create, design, and launch a new site in about a day or at most two and have unlimited possibilities to make money online for free! The more practice the easier it gets.

Anyone have any additional tips to save time when building their money sites?

I recently let you guys know about a great new tool for webmasters and MMO from Johnathan Ledger in my post at: The Best Content Spinner

I wanted to remind everyone that the The Best Content Spinner will leave Beta this Sunday night at midnight so you still have the weekend to try it for free: Try Best Content Spinner

As of Monday, February 1 it will go on sale at half off till February 5, which at $47 a year is still a great deal. Other spinners cost more and give a lot less.

Truly The Best Ever Spinning Tool Created

Unlike other spinner tools, this one has a fantastic and very comprehensive Thesaurus with both words and phrases.

It is really amazing, for doing multiple spins, as well as single rewrites of PLR articles or any content to make dozens of  completely unique versions, this is the ultimate must have tool for money sites.

The other main attraction that unlike other tools, where you have to think up your own synonyms and add them in manually, this provides a neat drop down menu and 1 click insert or replacement of words and phrases.

Automatically goes to next word or phrase in content once finished with previous ones which make spinning a breeze.

and tons more.

And, this week Johnathan announced that the Spinner now supports German, Spanish and French language rewrites as well.

I really like that Jonathan, the developer is actively in the forum, personally addressing any issues us beta users are having with the product, and fixing all bugs. His customer service skills is another reason this product ROCKS!!!

Here are some of the most important lessons I learned in 2009 for making money online, Internet marketing and affiliate marketing. These come from all hands-on trial and error learning, which I believe is the best teacher of all!

1. Keyword Research is important, but hot products will always sell – Keyword research is crucial for affiliate marketing, blogging and making money online, but if you have a hot product in mind and it happens to have very low, or even non-existent search volume in keyword tools that does not mean it has no potential. The fact is hot products, promoted correctly will always make you money.

2. Write Great Content And The Links Come Naturally – This is something you hear over and over and something I always thought was a myth, however, this blog proves it.

Every single link that gives me page 1 SERP placement for tons of my posts as well as the home page are all natural. This fact of natural links is harder to achieve for some niches, as the Internet Marketing and MMO niche is more prone to natural links since it’s so big, but you should still have great original content for any niche as it will attract at least some natural links and establish you as an authority within your topic.

3. Volume of Content is Key - The more well monetized content (inner pages) you have the more traffic potential grows and that leads to more money, it’s that simple. Those inner pages flood the SERPS of search engines and bring traffic to your site. So either build more sites or expand the ones that you have.

4. Social Traffic is a Money Making Bust – With the exception of a very few select niche and social site combinations, social traffic doesn’t buy, this has been proven time and again. If you are a flagship blogger and looking for fame then social traffic should be your main focus, but if you want to make money online, then it’s a total bust, always focus on organic search traffic that is where the buyers are !

5. Diversify Your Link Profile – Getting links to home pages only is not wise, it looks unnatural and it is much better to get about a 50/50 split between home page and inner pages for you backlinks.

On the same note inner page links can be as effective if not more effective than home page backlinks, as Google will come to view you as an authority on your topic and that is what gives you high SERP placement.

6. There Are No Failed Campaigns – While some of my sites make a lot more money than others, there are no failures. For example, I have a few sites that make me about $25 a month, times those by 3 and that’s $75, times it by 10 and it’s $250, you get the idea.

Also, every thing you do for your online business is a teaching experience and an opportunity to learn something new. Even if that site only makes $1 for the whole year you can bet that I will learn something from it and it will help me to grow as an Internet Marketer.

7. Testing Is A Great Teacher – Whether it’s ads, money making venues, niche sites, or blog campaigns testing out different avenues online is the best way to learn what works and what doesn’t. What works for one marketer may not work for another, so if you have an idea go for it, test it out and see how it works for you. Try new things, test tried and true venues, just test test test!

8. Spend Your Precious Time Wisely – Time management is crucial for working at home in the online business since there is little of it and tons of tasks that most of us need to do.

  • Do tough and more mind draining stuff early when the mind is fresh.
  • Take note of activities that are not supporting success and don’t waste time on them.
  • Set goals for the day, write them down and get them done, don’t stray!

9. The More Sites You Have The More Money You Can Make – Once you know the biz and know what to do to make one website or blog succeed, then go for more and as many campaigns as your schedule will allow. It is a fact that unless your Amazon.com (which none of us lone marketers will ever be) then you need to grow in your business.

Launch new sites often and keep adding them, your money and experience will grow!

10. Information Is Good, But Action Delivers – Don’t become an information junkie, where you spend all your time reading the how-to’s and the guides but then do nothing in the end. Take action, it’s the only way to succeed in affiliate marketing, Internet marketing and to make money online!

What did you guys learn in your marketing, blogging and online business efforts in 2009?

Happy Thanksgiving  Everybody! I hope you all have a great holiday and eat lots of great food!

On the make money online note, I want to remind everyone of something that is easy to forget…

If you have several sites in your Internet marketing portfolio it is easy to lose track and get too buys and therefore neglect opportunities that are all ready exist.

Take a look at all your sites and how they are monetized. I recently realized that through all the busy work I had overlooked monetizing content pages on a store site I have with any ads. I added Adsense to the site, which has lots and lots of inner content pages, and this site earned $40.50 in the last week from clicks on those ads.

Monetization is an ongoing adventure, all in all testing and experimenting with different affiliate ads, links, banners and venues is the best way to keep the site’s earning potential at it’s optimum.

Often times we focus too much on home pages and neglect all the inner pages of the site that gets traffic from search engines. And remember the more inner pages you have the more traffic potential and the more money you can make from clicks on Adsense or other monetazation venues.

So, check sites that you may have forgotten and all the inner pages on those sites that you have not looked at in some time. They could be making you money, even if it’s a dollar a day in Adsense, that’s an extra $30 per site per month :-)

The fold is a website design term that refers to the area of a webpage that is instantly visible to the visitor without having to scroll either to the sides or up and down. The fold can vary of course, depending on the web platform, the template or the design of the site itself.

Also, remember that there are over 65 web browsers available that all render and display web pages in a different way so the fold can vary from browser to browser.

Use this great free tool to check out how your site looks in all the different browsers: Browser Shots

Optimal Ad Placement – Above the Fold

For marketing and advertising you will want to have your most important website-add-placement-above-the-foldads, products and service promotions “Above the Fold”. This may seem elemental, but you’d be surprised how easy it is to forget.

I assume we are all trying to make money online right?

A good amount of money targets should be readily visible without the user having to surf or scroll the site.

Many times we tend to showcase written website content or information, and other “non money” stuff, instead of showcasing the money makers.

This is especially true for blogs that have the 2 sidebars on the right, where the 3rd one is usually not visible without scrolling. Time and again I see blogs that place their ads or Adsense units in that invisible sidebar, which makes it a gamble as to whether or not the user will ever see them and hence be given the opportunity to click on them and make you money!

If you’re main goal is to get subscribers then of course your website content should be the main focus, but if you are trying to make money then the content matters less and optimal ads placement is more important.

And this concept of advertising above the fold does not only apply to banners and ads, but also to the navigation menus and links to your money pages.

Always make sure that your navigation, whether in the sidebar or top nav bar is visible above the fold and slaps them in the face!

Always think maximum exposure to the money targets!

This concept not only applies to the home (index) page but also to the deep or inner pages with articles and written content. Place your ads and products between paragraphs, don’t let them get pushed to the bottom of the page because the user may not ever get there.

Never assume that the user will check out your entire site, the Internet crowd has a short attention span and they are the epitome of instant gratification.

PUT IT IN THEIR FACE, YOU MAY ONLY GET ONE CHANCE FOR THEM TO SEE IT!

In the world of Internet marketing our plates are pretty full, with all we have to do, like link building, keyword research, website promotion, etc… there just is not enough time in the day. Probably the most time consuming task is writing content. Not only for our niche sites but also for article marketing.

Now, before the flagship bloggers start screaming this is not meant to replace your beautifully and thoughtfully written posts! This is meant more for the money sites.

Outsourcing is a great way to save precious time and brain cells by hiring others to write content and articles and especially for those of us who have several niche sites where writing content becomes an overwhelming task.

Here is a list of the best content and article outsourcing sites for content management on your websites and blogs.

Because these sites provide original content that is copyrighted to you, you can use them for on-site content development, as well as for article marketing and submit using Article Marketer, to Ezine Articles and all the other article sites without being penalized in any way.

You can also use Copyscape to check the content for originality, all though these sites guarantee originality and copyright to you.

Some of these writing outsources are really expensive and some are quite cheap, depending on your needs there is something for everyone.

Turnaround usually within a couple of hours and they are copyscape checked by the website.

For most Internet marketing endeavors there are two main subjects of great interest, SEO and traffic and images are powerful tools for both of those goals.

1. They are really good for the look of the site design, look and enhance the visitor experience, especially with product guides and tutorials of any kind.

2.  They are great for on-site SEO because they add keyword relevancy via image alt tags and this includes any header graphics for site-wide keyword relevancy.

3. They can also bring you lots of website traffic and money.

Search engines cannot read images you must use alt tags for descriptions, which should be keyword relevant to the page. By the way, it is blackhat to give inaccurate descriptions for the purpose of SEO trickery in the Alt Tags.

Image HTML Code:

<img src=”http://mydomain.com/image1.jpg” alt=”Keywords- Descriptions”>

Link Image to URL code:

<a href=”http://mydomain.com/”><img src=”http://mydomain.com/image1.jpg”  alt=”Keywords- Descriptions”></a>

The above code is for images that are hosted on your servers. With Wordpress you can upload images directly from your computer via the Browser Uploader and the Title area in the Image dashboard is the Alt Tag.

The Traffic Connection via Images

The best benefit of images is traffic. Google often shows image results when people search particular keywords.

Lately I think they must really be doing more of this than before because I have 3 new sites that have been getting a lot of traffic from Google Images and its converting to sales.

To make sure my images show up in correct keyword search results I name the image file in detail, for example:

SonyEricsonMobilePhone.jpg
SonyEricson350.jpg

And, I also make sure the Alt Tag is there with the correct descriptive words.

I launched a new site last week and within 4 days I had something like 2,000 visitors all coming via Google Images and 6 sales and that is pretty good for a new site. I think this is especially good for shopping sites that use product images.

What I like to do is place at least 2-3 images on my content pages that are related to the topic of that page. They really make the content pages look better and more professional, especially with guide type pages.

I also make sure to have several images on my home pages like around the welcome message, that is a great place to provide keyword relevace for the sitewide keywords.

Time and again I see little niche sites using trademark brand names in their url’s. This is a truly reckless and a very stupid thing to do.

Here you are spending valuable time, working hard on your site designing, promoting, link building and your site has high search engine rankings and making you money and then the brand name company notices you and it’s over. At the very least your site will have to come down and at worst the brand name will sue you for copyright infringement.

It is illegal to use any copyrighted brand name trademark within the url or as the name of a site, many people do not even think of this fact and find great keywords that include brand names and use them.

Most of the big companies have a long page of legal terms that list all their trademark names and their variations and they clearly state how they can be used.

When doing keyword research for Internet marketing we inevitably come across tons of great keywords that use trademark names and especially within the electronics and computer niches, Apple ipods, Dell laptops, Sony, Acer laptops, the list is endless and it is really tempting to use them in the url because the ranking power increases greatly when using keywords in the url, but for the long term this is way too risky.

I was reading a blog post the other day, I didn’t save it or I would link to it, but the marketer made the mistake of using Dell in his url and Dell had contacted him and demanded he take his site down. Of course, the site was ranking on page  1 for the keyword, which is how Dell noticed him, and making money and now that’s all over.

Did he have regrets? Of Course! It’s just not worth it.

Can You Rank Without Using Keywords in the URL?

Yes, but it will usually take more keyword anchor text backlinks, how many depends on the competition for those keywords.

So there are two choices:

1. Choose similar non-trademark keywords for the url and do all the on-site optimization for the trademark kw, such as h1 tags, keyword density, title tags etc… and focus your link building to get lots of anchor text links with the trademark keywords.

This is the best option when you come across really highly searched for trademark keywords that have low competition, well worth the effort.

2. Choose completely different keywords within that niche that do not have trademark names.
