In the world of Internet marketing our plates are pretty full, with all we have to do, like link building, keyword research, website promotion, etc… there just is not enough time in the day. Probably the most time consuming task is writing content. Not only for our niche sites but also for article marketing.

Now, before the flagship bloggers start screaming this is not meant to replace your beautifully and thoughtfully written posts! This is meant more for the money sites.

Outsourcing is a great way to save precious time and brain cells by hiring others to write content and articles and especially for those of us who have several niche sites where writing content becomes an overwhelming task.

Here is a list of the best content and article outsourcing sites for content management on your websites and blogs.

Because these sites provide original content that is copyrighted to you, you can use them for on-site content development, as well as for article marketing and submit using Article Marketer, to Ezine Articles and all the other article sites without being penalized in any way.

You can also use Copyscape to check the content for originality, all though these sites guarantee originality and copyright to you.

Some of these writing outsources are really expensive and some are quite cheap, depending on your needs there is something for everyone.

Turnaround usually within a couple of hours and they are copyscape checked by the website.

1000 Free Quality PLR Articles and Free Duplicate Content Tool

Article Marketing, Webmaster/Website Optimization, Website Tools 43 Comments »

Is this you dealing with website content and article writing?

Then here are some really great goodies that will restore some peace and sanity.

As a follow up to my post 16 Website Content Ideas, here is a great resource to get 1000 Free PLR articles that I found when perusing the net, and since I am a cheap skate, I was looking for PLR that was quality and free and I found it!!

What is PLR?

Just to review PLR is Private Label Rights, PLR is usually sold or in this case given away and this is an article license that provides content that you can do WHATEVER you want with, including, edit, rewrite, take credit for and republish verbatim as your own, but DO NOT do the last one.

Goodie #1

1,000 FREE PLR ARTICLES - This PLR pack has tons of niches and topics and many of the articles have really quality information and are pretty detailed.

No Catches just 3 steps: 1. They ask for your email to send the PLR. 2. There is a sales page to some other products (actually look pretty good) that you can skip at the bottom of the page if you wish. 3. Get an email with your PLR download link, well worth that effort!

Using PLR Effectively:

Always, Always rewrite PLR. Keep the substance but regroup sentences, change common words, rewrite in your own words, etc.. to make the articles unique. Remember that you don’t know how many others have used the PLR and they should not be used as exact duplicates but used to make life easier not having to write content from scratch.

I found a couple of articles that I actually cut up and re-pieced together to make a great page of content for my computer niche site.

As long as you rewrite it, PLR can be used for Article Marketing as well as website content.

Hell of a lot easier than writing from scratch!

Goodie #2

Free Duplicate Content Checker

DUPE FREE PRO - Compares articles side by side and gives you a percentage of the duplicity between articles so you can check your original PLR with the rewritten for duplication percentage.

1. Copy and paste original and rewritten article into separate areas

2. Hit the COMPARE button - Bam! the software gives a percentage of duplicity, VERY COOL!!

It even highlights the duplicated phrases for easy changes.

And, this tool calculates keyword density for any phrase or keyword you put in!!!

I would suggest you get your free copy of Dupe Free Pro NOW, I doubt they will be giving it away forever, frankly I am surprised it is free now.

Now, I honestly cannot advise on the ideal percentage, but I shoot for anything below 15%, if anyone disagrees with this number please feel free to comment and give your input.

4 Tips for Writing Effective Articles for the Internet

Article Marketing 28 Comments »

By, JR

When I first started doing article marketing as part of my Internet marketing efforts I made the typical newbie mistakes. I spent way too much time and effort creating what I thought had to be masterpieces.

I had previously discussed the huge benefits of article marketing, like backlinks and targeted traffic in Article Marketing 101 and the Huge Internet Marketing Benefits and I wrote a detailed guide to article content and clickable titles in Are You Writing Garbage? Here are some more tips for effective article writing.

4 Tips for Writing Effective Articles for the Internet

1. 350 - 600 words is best. Remember that you want your reader to get to the resource box where your link is and you don’t want to risk them splitting on you because the article is too long.

2. This is Not Shakespeare - You do not have to write detailed, sophisticated, epic tales for the Internet. Remember that your target audience are Internet surfers and by definition they are looking for instant gratification and quick information. It is a fact that 80% of Internet article readers don’t read every word but actually scan the article to get main ideas.

Tips to Make Article Content Scannable:

  • Write short paragraphs
  • Discuss only one idea per paragraph
  • Use subheadings to divide article into sections so that things do not run together and get jumbled.
  • Use bullets or separate any lists within the paragraph, do not run them all together.

3. Keep It Simple - Write in simple English, that is easy to understand, do not risk anhialating readers with fancy words.

4. If you get an inspiration DO NOT let it get away. Many times when I least expect it I suddenly get an idea for an article and if I don’t jump on it right then and there it can easily get away. So if you get inspired either do a quick outline or if possible write out the article right then and there. Those inspiration articles are some of the best and easiest I have ever written.

Remember, that simple and direct makes better articles and the more likely that other webmasters will republish them on their sites with your links, good for SEO!

I know that article writing is stressful, but believe me after doing it for a while you will find your flow and it will become second nature and you’ll be busting out articles easily.

I also eliminated a lot of stress by signing up with Article Marketer, they submit for me to over 5,000 sites versus me doing manul submission, which is a total PAIN!!

The most important thing I learned in my article marketing journey is not to stress them. Outline some good info, make them easy to read and submit. BAM! These days, if I stress anything it is my website content and not the articles.

What do you guys think? What are your article writing tips? Do you stress article writing?

The Death of Some Quality Backlinks and a Great Traffic Source

Article Marketing, Link Building 16 Comments »

Very bad news for those of us with BANS stores or any auction sites. Ezine Articles is no longer allowing backlinks to auction sites in the author resource box. The much cherished quality backlinks as well as the large amount of targeted traffic from Ezine’s readers is gone forever.

This is upsetting news, as Ezine is one of the premier, if not THE premier articles sites on the web.

How will this affect your link building efforts? Well, it probably won’t break any of us, but it will certainly hurt Article marketing efforts to no longer have those backlinks and it will definitely hurt not having the high amounts of traffic that Ezine can and does bring to our sites.

While a moment of silence may be over dramatic, the reality is this is a sad day!

What do you guys think? Will this hit you hard? Do you care?

Articles, Duplicate Content - Myths & Facts…Here We Go Again

Article Marketing, Google, Internet Marketing, Webmaster/Website Optimization 34 Comments »

Yes, another article about duplicate content, I know, you guys may want to strangle me right now, but there is so much hype and misconception out there about duplicate content and the duplicate content Google slap that I just had to go there and since Google blogged about it last week, I figured now is the perfect time!

Over and over duplicate content is mistaken and distorted into something it isn’t. Some of the biggest myths are about article marketing and duplicate content. One of the biggest article marketing secrets seems to be the truth about duplicate content and article marketing because the BS just keeps propagating on the web.

ARTICLES AND DUPLICATE CONTENT - FACT AND MYTH

MYTH: You have to use some article spinner software, to change your articles around or you will get slapped by Google for submitting the same article to different article sites.

FACT: Totally UNTRUE and doesn’t even make sense. I can and do all the time, submit the same article to thousands of sites with Article Marketer and they always show up in search results for the keywords, some rank higher than others, depending on the article site, but they will all be there.

MYTH: Google will slap you for submitting the same article to different article sites.

FACT: Umm, okay how would they do this? In reality, logistically there is no way that Google can penalize the author even if they wanted to, which they don’t.

If, in reality, Google penalized for duplicate articles the logic would follow that G would have to penalize the article sites for publishing the duplicates and that would mean that there would be no article sites left since they often feature the same article submitted by the same author that is also published on other sites.

And, then would it also follow that if same articles were considered duplicate content, the millions of sites that syndicate and disburse articles and news feeds, such as that from the Associated Press, would have been banned long ago.

FACT: Duplicate Content has nothing to do with the submitting the same article. Duplicate content refers to the significantly noticeable duplicated content within the SAME domain or across multiple domains.

THE REAL MEANING OF DUPLICATE CONTENT

Really there are two forms of duplicate content, the malicious and non malicious types.

Non-Malicious Duplicate Content

Same exact content repeated across the same domain, usually because of the CMS design and without malicious intent by the webmaster.

1. Same content across the same domain, such as such as two versions of the same page, for example, a readable and print version on a website.

2. Blogs - By design blogs and CMS apps generate duplicate content, such as the same content falling under archives, tags and new posts listed on the home page.

Both of the above can be handled by indicating on your robots.txt file to block the search engine from crawling and indexing those pages.

Example of Robots.txt commands:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /tags/
Disallow: /archives/
Disallow: /print page/

Learn more ways to address such non malicious duplicate content on your sites at GWT on Fixing Duplicate Content Issues.

“Duplicate content on a site is not grounds for action on that site unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulate search engine results.”
-Google Webmaster Tools

Malicious Duplicate Content - The Real Penalty

Malicious duplicate content is the true culprit and WILL suffer a duplicate content penalty and basically applies to: Substantially same content placed on multiple pages, subdomains, or multiple domains to deliberately manipulate the search engine rankings, and get more traffic.

Last week Google posted a very comprehensive post about duplicate content on their Webmaster Central Blog that will hopefully crush the myths forever and end the constant barage of hype that exists about duplicate content, read it at: Demystifying the Duplicate Content Penalty

Article Marketing Backlink Techniques

Article Marketing, Link Building, Search Engine Optimization 28 Comments »

By, JR

I have received several emails from readers asking specific questions about articles, so I am going to answer these questions throughout several posts.

Article Marketing has a few benefits, one of which is more website traffic and more important is the unlimited potential of well targted anchor text backlinks.

This post will be about keywords for the anchor text and how to place backlinks to your sites within articles.

Whether you are using Article Marketer as I do to submit your articles automatically or you are doing manual submission, keyword anchor techniques for backlinks to your site within articles are the same.

Home Page Links and Deep Links

I always put two backlinks in the author resource box, one to the home page of my sites and another to a sub page, for the deep link.

Deep links are links to website pages other than the home page. Deep links are often overlooked because we are so focused on optimizing for site wide home page keywords, however, remember that we are not just looking to have our home page rank number one in the SERPS, (search engine rank position/page position) we want all our website pages to rank for the those pages respective keywords and to do that, we need to build backlinks for those pages.

And articles serve this purpose very well, because even the strictest of article sites like Ezine Articles, allows 2 self serving backlinks in the author box, so one should be for the home page with the main keywords in the anchor and the other should be a sub page with that pages keywords as the anchor text for the deep link.

Example of Resource Box: Learn more about Internet marketing with step-by-step and hands-on techniques at: JR’s Internet Marketing Strategies. Read lots of guides about link building, affiliate marketing and get a List of 195 Keyword Suggestions.

Home page links and deep links not only help you with your link building strategies, but also are helpful in getting direct traffic as you are showing the articles readers more of what your sites have to offer.

You can change it up with each article, one article use page X and Y for deep links and the next article use page A and B.

Make sense?

Beyond the Resource Box - Backlinks Within Article Content

There are three great article sites that allow for hypelinks within content and not just confine them to the author box as the usual guidelines, and they are do-follow. By the way these sites are also great for the viral effect of Article Marketing as explained in Best Submission Sites to Make Articles Go Viral.

Amazines
Article Alley
Articles Factory

So, when you are submitting to these sites, add a variety of links within the article content to your sites with the different keywords you want those pages to rank for, you can link to home pages with all your different keywords and deep pages. (Don’t over do it)

Then at the end of the article add your resource box summary, Learn more… , Browse…, or Get… etc… with yet more different keywords that you have not used yet.

HTML CODE for HYPER LINKS:

Some of these sites you need to add your links with html code, so here it is, just replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain url and put your keywords where it says keyword anchor text.
<a href=”http://domain.com/”>Keyword Anchor</a>

What do you guys think? Anyone have any link tips for articles?
