A quick post to steer you guys towards the absolute best webmaster forum there is. This is not of those typically spam flooded, newbies acting like they know everything, accurate information devoid Internet Marketing forums, like DP and the many that exist, Webmaster World is full of real knowledgeable webmasters with years of experience in everything from SEO, to website design, to effective link building to analyzing SERP fluctuations and changes on a monthly basis to discussing and analyzing Google penalties and a ton more topics.
There are no sig links allowed in this forum and it is heavily moderated which means that it yields a plethora of useful and usable information about the online business and eliminates all the useless crap.
Make sure to check out The Google Hot Topics page that is the Google SEO News and Discussion, this page is a gem full of some incredible guides and information on such topics as Google rank penalties, sandbox and trust, various ranking issues, Google reconsideration requests, duplicate content (both on site and off), hacking and tons more, really some must read topics on that page. And make sure to check out the Review My Site section and get real advice about your websites.
If you have ever had a question about something very technical, CSS, HTML or design, SERP or ranking related, link building or any other question about the business this is the place to ask it, as you will get highly intelligent and experienced based answers from some very knowledgeable experts in the field. Make sure to browse through some of the topics and you can really learn a lot.

I am also a part of that community, a great one indeed. Not allowing signatures and being strictly moderated makes it indeed an awesome place for gathering some information or exchanging new tips with the guys there.
Nowadays most forum are crawling with newbies posting as experts, better avoid them then to listen to their inexperienced advices.
@ Web Design
I love it there, really a wealth of great info.

JR,
Once again, you share your best stuff with us! Your recommendation for webmaster world popped up at just the right time. I am so sick of forums where every one’s pushing their favorite affiliate program instead of just answering the question.
Thanks for serving your community!

Awesome recommendation, thank you. I can’t even count how many forums I’ve wasted countless hours on.

It’s the no signature rule that does it; an automatic lame-deterrent. lol
I’m planning a forum for myself as well, and have in-fact been eying the no-siggy option also.

lol, automatic lame deterent, I love that. I think the no sig option AND NO links at all, along with the level of quality of info in this forum that is the main propeller of its huge success, when the only motivation is a real and honest discussion only the best comes forward.

No name-link, no profile, no nuthin?? How DO folks hook-up off forum if they want?
.-= Dennis Edell | Direct Sales Marketing´s last blog ..TweetMeme Installed! I Have Some Questions… =-.
@ Dennis
There are profiles for every member that you can click on, this forum has a subscriber-private only section as well, and for those members I believe URL’s are displayed in profiles should they want to leave those. The public and free section is the biggest portion of this forum.
Overall, this forum is not meant for networking its main objective is to discuss, analyze and offer solutions and strategies to webmaster issues and especially SEO, and rankings, the autonomy factor is essential to maintain the integrity as well as to facilitate an open and transparent discussion, in the sense that you can anonymously post issues without worries of prying eyes discovering who you are, like competitors and Matt Cutts is a member of that forum, get it? For example, this is a perfect place to discuss a possible penalty a site got, or tanked rankings and not worry that anyone will know what site you are talking about.
Overall the concept is brilliant, by eliminating the “self promotion” factor, what you get is members that just want to contribute and participate and that yields the most honest and accurate information that you can imagine, so this is exactly what a forum should be, discussion for information sake and nothing else, read their mission statement: http://www.webmasterworld.com/help.cgi?cat=about and note the statement there – “We are not here to actually do business with one another. “

I get that, and think it’s awesome, but, for instance, I feel someone can really help me, or I can really help someone with something…..oh I’d really rather not spend 3 months going back and forth on something in a forum thread, that 3 emails could accomplish. LOL
You get the gist.

LOL, no I dont think so, in fact many of the questions you often have will be answered quite well and quite accurately at that forum, and often you can just search and find all ready existing answers as there are like a zillion threads in there all ready.
I rather seek for a variety of information and points of view to create my own, than doing what a single “seo” says. Digitalforums, seopint, and webmasterworld are great sources of information do not stick with just one source
While I understand the sentiment I wonder how many people will participate long term and provide useful information if there is not “payback” in the way of backlinks.
.-= Logo Design´s last blog ..Water Conservation Drop =-.
@ Logo
Well it’s a PR7 with over 1.5 million pages indexed and over 3,000 Google backlinks showing, which actually means there are probably 100 times more than that, and that is not SEO, but a true reflection of the participation and usefulness.
There are plenty who participate and most that answer are senior members, moderators and the forum’s admin, Tedster (who obviously by his expertise has been on the web for a long time), this forum has been around for a while and continues to thrive because it offers unparallel support.
The sole purpose of it is to share and receive information, discuss issues and offer insight from webmaster to webmaster. The payoff is learning, for both the experts and newbies, especially in the SERP and Google discussions, because as we all know, understanding true SEO effectiveness, trends and pitfalls can only be an educated guess based on experience.

It’s a good forum. However, I have found the Warrior Forum to be a great internet marketing forum. It may not be quite as niche as the Webmaster World, but it is a great forum of intelligent people that try to help each other solve problems.
I have learned a lot of what I know thanks to the Warrior Forum, and if anyone has not checked it out I would suggest you head over there and give it a try. No matter what level of internet marketing skills you possess, you can always learn more.
@ Matt
You are very right about Warrior and it’s also a great place to find outsourcing that’s effective and honest.

Hey JR,
I haven’t heard of Webmaster World before. Sounds like a great forum and not like a lot of the other crappy forums out there. I get so annoyed with so many “top” forums that are plagued with spammers who only care about throwing in their affiliate and website links rather than being helpful. Granted, you can sometimes find decent information in these forums, but there’s a lot of people who don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.
I’ll definitely be looking into this one. Thanks!

Webmaster World is without a doubt a great forum. If you search well enough, you can find answers to all your questions. I discovered the forum several months ago and I’m really glad I did. Visiting it on regular basis has really helped me learn some useful tips. Highly recommended!
