December 2009 Google PR Update and Happy New Year!!! By JR
Well looks like the last Google PR update of 2009 is taking place right now or may all ready be finished. Once again we get to stroke our egos, at least hopefully.
I have personally seen some weird things going on in the last 6 months with the updates, unexpected time frames with updates and mass fluctuations in PR.
This update several of my sites went up 1 level and several went back down to where they were in PR before the last update, which makes sense since the last update did not seem accurate at all.
Again, PR means nothing for rankings and it is just something we all have to check to make ourselves feel good, but if you lost PR or did not gain any at all then don’t worry about, be more concerned with SERP rankings.
Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to wish everyone a very happy new year and I hope that you are all ready to work hard and make some serious money online in 2010!!!!!!! I know I am
.
It’s been a great year for me and I am ready to make 2010 even better. Remember to be vigilant in setting goals for your online business and following through.
Don’t get too caught up in information to where it takes you off track and makes you stagnant, ACTION IS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE!!!!!!!
See you all in 2010 and once again thank you so much for all the support and best of luck in all your 2010 endeavors!

@ Chandan
PR3 is a good PR, often it is a difficult transition to get to PR4+
Hi,
I think this is a new year gift for the people from the Google, whole year we put our full efforts and then this is the time when we can see our efforts on the screen. So this is really a good thing about the Google.
@ Tiara
Yes PR can show effort that is for sure.
Happy New Year everyone!

Hi, JR:
I found out about the Google PR update on the Daily Blog Tips blog and noticed a blog I recently sold shoot up from a PR O to PR 2.
Fact is we say “we don’t care”, but we secretly do. lol.
Cheers,

You do not care but I do care and many others do and more important that advertisers care, that is problem! Happy New Year! I am happy as I got PR4 and PR2 for 2 blogs I own!

Yes you are right about that, advertisers do care about it, PR still has the ability to provide reputation to websites. Congrats on the PR4 that is really great!
Happy New year, Mine went down 1, but that’s cool because like you I don’t really care about PR.
Thanks for joining CoolBlogLinks.

Yeah a few of my sites went down as well, PR has been weird for months now. Your welcome, it’s a very cool site.
Congratulation on your PR1 JR, finally you got back PR, don’t worry I believe that you could gain higher on the next update, at least Google approves your previous reinstate.
Happy new year JR! Hope you earn more money this year!
Cheers,

What a way for Google to say Happy New Year. Mine went up on some sites and down on other sites.

Happy new year to you to JR.
I see this site is PR0 which is quite surprising. Did it go down this go round?
in an earlier PR post you wrote
>the sites still rank the same even when they jumped from PR1 to PR2.
Keep in mind the Google updates PR instantaneously internally and update the toolbar PR only about quarterly. So when we see the change in the PR Google has already been using that PR for some time.

No my PR went down a couple of updates ago, I think they think I’m selling links, thought I’m not, but I do link out a lot in my posts with all the lists and with the do-follow comments. I know that Google updates internally, the blog still ranks on Page 1 for many keyword SERPS so I’m not too worried about PR.
I think page rank has a lot to do with our rankings, I will have to disagree with ya on this one. Everyone writes articles for backlinks, affiliate sales, and because the article directories have a fat page rank. Try geting a page rank zero site to rank for competitive keywords 9 times out of 10 you will be left in the dust. Nice topic thanks!
