I have a plugin where you can designate when those ads will show up by time, so I have it set to show the ads only on older posts, this way my readers don't see them, but future search traffic does. @ Dennis

I agree that Adsense is not always right for everyone, but those sites that are making very little, are usually not targeting the right traffic(which should be organic), or do not have enough of it, or the ad placement is off. Usually these are the reasons for low Adsense earnings. @ Jason
