@Art....I spend about 6-8 hours a day on link building....but only during the winter months, when its too cold to work on home improvement projects outdoors.

There has been some "Google Dancing" going on.......nothing major but the SERP gets really F*cked Up for about an hour......where all the top sites disappear to page 30+.

When things return to normal, I'm back where I was before (at the top).

Its really funny how my friends will call me-- in a panic...."Where's my site?-- Your site is gone too!"....relax its the Google Dance.

I'm predicting another PR update for March 20.

@Dennis Edell,
Thank you very much for this information. I will tell my supervisor not to expect any miracles for about three months, then!

Since I have put in charge of the SEO of my company's website, I was wondering just how often Google does PR update?

Great post. Setting goals for yourself is absolutely vital. You have to give yourself something to shoot for and provide motivation. And planning is key...without a plan you're just running around from one task to the next and it will take you a lot longer to reach your destination.

@Peter
I think that in order to jump from 3 to 4 and 5 some higher PR, and more authority links maybe needed. I am doing some testing on this right now.

Hey JR,
Happy New Year. My blog remained at PR3 (seems to be here like forever) although my main page got back to PR3 after dropping to 2 at the last update. Hey maybe you helped a little since you linked to me there. And my new blog got PR1. So good thing none went down. Congrats on your page 2 SERP.

Thanks Kathy. Yes it really is, and I have learned the hard way that it is important to do this, it's not such a great idea to just work and hope for the best.
