Affiliate Marketing, Keywords and Niches, Website Tools Do-Follow Comments

SEnuke Complete Marketing SoftwareGoogle has launched a new keyword research tool intented for Adwords research, to find more PPC keywords, BUT, this tool can be used to find relevant and longtail keywords for any website pages or blogs and blog post titles.

This keyword research tool is different BECAUSE it is based on YOUR SITE, not just on general words.

Lots of Research Options:

1. You can just enter your URL

2. Enter you URL and enter specific keywords to research

3. Set up additional filters, like monthly searches, competition amounts, like low and high and more.

The results are:

  • Based on actual Google search queries
  • Matched to specific pages of your website

Just log in with your Google info, enter your information and get:

1. Set of keywords related to the pages of your sites/blogs

2. Actual number of monthly searches

3. Competition

4. Cost of PPC bidding for each keyword, this can tell you how valuable that keyword phrase is.

How to Use This Information:

This tool is not meant for researching new site keywords but the best way to use this tool is to get good keywords and long tail keywords when writing blog posts and adding additional pages to your websites using keywords that people are searching for.

This tool is new and still in beta, but I found some cool keywords for this blog, check it out: GOOGLE SEARCH-BASED KEYWORD TOOL

    Dennis,
The more information you have the better, especially for blog posts, if you are researching good longtail keywords then your blog posts, for instance, will be all over the SERPS and you get a steady flow of traffic from those. I use several tools to get a comprehensive picture and the more information the better.

LMAO, I have nightmares about keywords, and when I was having my Thanksgiving dinner, I actually found myself thinking if I was optimizing my sentences with KW enough, I think I need a labotomy

I prefer to do my own research based on logic and intuition. Key word tools are great, but they would be more for someone doing PPC. My focus is on a single word: Weddings. There is no other word or synonym.

JR reply on November 22nd, 2008 4:16 pm:

    Hi Matt,
I understand, but when you are running niche sites, the standard “keyword” is often so competitive that you need more longtail and specific keywords, especially for sub pages .

Yeah check it out, it’s pretty cool. It is important to optimize blog posts with specific keywords, if it’s not done then the blog will not reep the benefits of all that search traffic and your blog posts really get so much less exposure.

I notice this a lot on blogs where is evident that the blogger just titled it without keyword optimizing. I use at least three different tools to research each blog post title and many of my posts are sitting high in SERPS.

Thanks JR, I just tried it and simply loved it. While using this tool I found out I’m on page 1, #4 for the KW “Work From Home Ideas”. This tool says this KW has 10,000 monthly searches . But I’m not seeing that much traffic, only trickles as shown in my Google Analytics. You got a theory on this?

“….I use at least three different tools to research each blog post title and many of my posts are sitting high in SERPS….”…thanks for the tip JR, it’s something I know but keep forgetting to do. Thanks for the reminder.

    @ Peter
That is why I use at least three different tools, because in reality you will never find any tool that gives a totally precise search number, so you gotta compare results with different sources, also sometimes use common sense, is the keyword common enough for everyone to search, in reality it’s somewhat of a crap shoot especially with the long tails. I have used KW that supposedly had thousands of searches too and I had very little traffic, I am going to do a post about same subject next week.

Yeah you really gotta research blog titles, when done consistently you will see a surge in traffic from the SERPS and what a waste not to?!?

    Hi JR,
Could you share with me what are the 3 tools you refer to here.

    Sure!
    1. SEO Book Free Keyword Tool
    2. Google Adwords Keyword Tool since they added a numbered search results it is very good to compare results with others
    3. Keyword Discovery, that one is not free but has a free trial
    4. I also sometimes use Free Keywords Wordtracker.

Plus of course this new tool from this post, I will be using that one often :-)

This is definitely an upgrade from other tools, as Google is giving you information directly from their databanks.
Thanks for the article, I was finding the new tool a little confusing, I wasn’t sure if one needed to have an adwords account to make full use of it.
    Thanks JR

  10. Goran Web Says:

I am looking for some advice on the Google tool, I wonder if you can help.

I often search and there are 1000’s of results displayed in the Approx Avg Search Volume column yet the data from the previous month is “Insufficient Data”.

This does not make logical senses to me as how can there be no search volume (Insufficient data) during previous months if there are 1000’s on an average month.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

JR reply on March 17th, 2009 12:44 pm:

    @Goran Web,
Sorry for late reply, missed your question.

The Approx Avg Volume is an average over a 12 month period and the Previous Month is only for that month, so depending on the month you are looking at the data maybe small, or it could be early in the month and there has not been enough time for people to search yet.

Overall KW tools are not perfect and the data can be wrong, what I do is use at least two tools to compare, like the Google and SEBOOK Free KW tool to compare, especially when there are weird results,

Also look at the keyword is it sensible? I mean it is something that a lot of people might search for, is it just too odd or weird

    Hope this helps.
