I saw the Japanese Ring and it was fantastic. And I was surprised that the US remake was as good as it was. I love the Japanese horror genre overall, like Grudge, some of those faces are truly horrifying.

Jr, My Halloween was rather boring this year. But I too love a good scary movie. My all time favorite movie is Strange Land. It is not really a horror movie, but a weird freaky all in one. It was awesome as a horror-comedy, but nothing beats the original trilogy

JR – Funny that, the humor in scream is one of the reasons I loved the trilogy…it seemed a lot more intentional then most of the horror-comedies that just went terribly wrong as they were never meant to be funny LOL

I actually enjoyed the sequels. That combined with some actual freaky scenes made it a good play in my book.

King movies, where to start. I think the 4 you mentioned were the only ones that were even somewhat comparable (good) to the books…Pet Cemetery 1 also, but I saw the movie first on that one.

The thing I do love is King gives himself THE ABSOLUTE CORNIEST roles in each…in each that he’s in that is. The mark of a true genius LOL.

The Ring was exceptional, I agree. But, if you EVER get the opportunity to see the original in Japanese…..OMFG pretty much says it all.

Disregard the fact that it’s in Japanese, the imagery alone will keep your lights on for the next 5ys minimum.

You’ll have to have your research mojo set on super kill though, it was immediately cut for US release and almost as immediate it was banned from US distribution – not unlike the Traci Lords porn incident, some actually went to jail in the beginning LOL

LOL— the scariest Michael is the one named JACKSON.

I’m a zombie movie buff….. my favorite in this genre includes “Dawn Of The Dead” (new version) and “Sean Of The Dead” (british spoof of Zombie genre).
