Participating in forums relevant to your niche is one of the best ways to get relevant and targeted traffic to your sites and blogs.
Internet forums are so widely used and have thousands of members that ask questions and engage in discussions and that large audience can turn into targeted traffic that can lead to lots of sales and subscribers. If you have not utilized the power of forums in your Internet Marketing endeavors that you are really missing out.
Plus the fact that any good Internet marketing strategy involves a diverse backlink portfolio, so getting links from different IP’s and domains that are related to your site is the best way to higher SERP ranks, and forum sig links are decent places to get some links.
Posting in do-follow forums can give you a nice backlink for link building and search engine optimization. The do-follow forum link comes from a link you set in the signature option of your profile, referred to as a sig link. This sig link appears at the bottom of your forum posts. So, every time you post that’s a backlink! Remember to use a good anchor text for SEO but also make sure it is eye catching for the forum audience to get the click!
Make sure to read the TOS and Posting Rules to make sure that you will not get banned. Also check out all the topics available in the forum many of them have a section for website promotion, guides, articles and how-to’s where you can refer to your sites within the post itself.
Make sure to sound like an expert (no typos
) this can bring lots of traffic!
Getting targeted traffic from forum sites is one way to make money online right away, while waiting for SEO to take affect and SERP ranks for the organic traffic. Since most of the forum traffic is highly targeted they are much more likely to buy.

Thanks for the list. As you wrote, always check the ToS and forum rules before you start posting – unfortunately, these aren’t necessarily easy to find.
Some forums don’t allow links until you have posted 50 times, others won’t allow signature links on posts with less than 80 words.
Still, it’s good to contribute properly on these forums though rather than post bumping just for the sake of building links
Hi Andy
Yes you are right, I am going to do a follow up post on proper forum etiquette

This list was great but it is very hard to find thread page that had PR on it because PR only on it home page.
@ Electric
Welcome, nice to talk with you. Do not worry about inner page PR, the PR bleeds out from the home page to inner page, so there is still value.
Thanks Jon!
Thanks JR for the huge list of dofollow forums. It’s amazing how you come up with an exhaustive list like that!
What PR value do you get off a pr7 forum, if the thread page is pr0?
Many thanks
Dominic
Editor
http://www.laser-eye-surgery-review.com
@ Dominic
I could not tell you exactly how much PR value, but I do know that if that forum was to give you a link on their PR7 home page, a natural do-follow that would be golden, will it happen, NO, unless they are selling links. Does this mean that you should forget the lower PR inner pages? Of course, not, those inner pages still give valuable links, especially since G views that webpage as an authority site with the PR7. I myself, do not worry so much about PR of home and inner pages. Just build links, they all add up in the end, even if you only have PR0 links.

Thanks Daniel.
Hey, JR.
Just a quick note. How on earth did you write this authority post – did you have any contributors or support? Did you use any software programs? That post must have taken a lot of time and effort to compile such an exhaustive list! I have heard of some software programs that allow a user to type in a keyword and the program will find appropriate blogs that do NOT have the rel=NOFOLLOW command for their posts.
Sincerely,
Daniel.
@Daniel
Thanks! No I did this myself by hand, I just used Google to search. It actually did not take that long, a few nights and a couple of hours a night. Those softwares you are referring to are used to find do-follow blogs, but these are forums, I have never heard of one for forums.

If you do not use Firefox, you can also check the page source and look at the link’s code to see if there is a rel=”nofollow” following the signature links in the forum posts.

Hi Everyone,
I have a carpet cleaning business in Houston,TX that was doing pretty good until the economy went bad, and with it my clientele. I have a website for the business but I dont
know what I have to do the get it to show up in a search. Right now it’s somewhere in the yahoo/google netherworld (LOL).
Is there someone on here that can give me some insight or know of anyone that coud give me insight on how I can get my local website on the front
page of a Yahoo or Google search to increase my business without it costing me 5 or 10k $$$? If so please share with me.

thanks for tips. I have a question though,
Should I post to forums with high index page but the actual page for putting links has no PR at all? Will google still consider this as a boost to my PR?
@martin
Yes, the home page PR will bleed some PR to those pages, and eventually the inner pages get PR as well, of course it is better to get links on direct pages with PR, but not always possible. Also, getting links from authority sites, as some forums are is always good no matter the page those links are on.
@JR,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I will still try to look at some direct pages with dofollow and PR3-4 only and try to see if it will bleed some PR to me.
Kind Regards,
Martin

As Joe mentioned earlier in the comments I am very curious as to how a site with all its links coming from forums would do. This could be a really fun test but needs to be first tried on a moderately competitive keyword. As it really does not matter where your links come from to rank for a uncompetitive term. You just need enough links for the search engines to find the page and a bit of on page SEO to rank for an uncompetitive term. And when trying to hold a solid ranking on a highly competitive term it can take a year or two with a well rounded link portfolio to gain a ten pack position.
Has anyone on this site ever ranked a domain exclusively from forum signature posts?
James Wheelock @ Homes For Sale In Houston Texas´s last blog ..Did Green Home Enthusiasts Miss Purpose Of Movement?
@ James
I never have, but I suspect that it would only rank via forums links only for very very low competition longtail keywords.

@JR – Thank you for responding to my post. One of these days when I have more time to screw around I will have to try ranking a site using just signature links to fulfill my curiosity.

Question about making a site, two questions really. I would like to create my own website about anime but am not sure where to start.
Should I make a blog or a site? From what I have read the blogs seem to be an easy to use system but have limitations. However, if I make a website with individual pages that looks like more difficult work.
Has anyone created their own anime site and what platform did you use?
My second question is that I want to use pictures in my posts but am worried about copyright issues, can I just copy and paste or maybe just link to a picture? Do the comic sites really care?
thanks
Thanks for the long list.

Amazing list. I saw some of the links are not dofollow but I am not sure if it depends of your antiquity in the forum.
Thank you for creating the list and going a step further than any other list I have seen and breaking it down into niches.
Does this mean that you should forget the lower PR inner pages? Of course, not, those inner pages still give valuable links, especially since Google views that webpage as an authority site with the PR7. I myself, do not worry so much about PR of home and inner pages. Just build links, they all add up in the end, even if you only have PR0 links.
Hi Jr… This is my first time I visit your website. It is amazing, I found finally what I have been looking for, namely the list of Do-Follow Forums with nice PR.

Hi I am currently out of work. I looked at all the sites more times than I’d care to recall and sent off hundreds of resumes. However, i have not been able to find a single good response to my applications. If anyone knows about any particular place where i can look for a good job, please revert me with the location details. I will be thankful to you for your early response.
That’s a great list.
Oh my goodness… Thanks a lot for the list mate. I don’t know how effective forum link building is, but i’m sure with forums on this list, it will have an effect after all
