I have used Google Alerts for about a year and it has helped me find a number of sites within my niche that I could go comment on or forums to join.

This is a tool that must be put in an arsenal.

Hi JR, Good informative post on Google Alert. I think if you are a top commentator at someone else's blog or have exchanged blogroll with a blogger, you may receive an incoming link on your blog admin, so this would not be a real trackback.
