Okay, now I am going to take a minute to go off.
There were two recurring events this week in my Internet marketing world that really made me want to shoot myself, or better yet shoot the perps committing this insanity.
1. Endless procession of Blog Posts about Google Chrome, yes Google has launched a new browser called Chrome.
Tuesday, one after the other, I was getting blog post notices with the same subject, Google Chrome is the Greatest Thing on Earth, Google Chrome will Revolutionaize the Web…I CARED A LITTLE…
Wednesday, there was a total of 8, including, Google Chrome Sucks, Google Chrome Does not Suck…I DON’T CARE ANYMORE…
Thursday, they started again, one after the other…. I CARE EVEN LESS!!!
Friday delivered 3 more…I SO NOT CARE AND NOW I AM GOING TO GO POSTAL!! ENOUGH ALL READY!!!
2. I am working hard to compile a list of Do-Follow Blogs for you guys on different niches, so I was doing the research and visiting each one to make sure they really are do-follow. Over and over this message was posted in the comments section of theses so called “do-follow” blogs.
“Do not use website names or keywords
in comments, use real names.”
WTF IS THAT??
Listen up do-follow bloggers…I and NO ONE I know, wants to rank for their real names, we are pretty sure that when someone is searching for Internet Marketing Strategies, they will not search for JR, they will search for “internet marketing strategies” and this is the keyword I am trying to rank for!!!!
The whole point of the do-follow is to give link juice to your valuable commenters and readers, in order to help their link building efforts and Page Rank. If you only allow first names then don’t bother with the do-follow, you defeat the whole purpose!
NOW REPEAT AFTER ME:
KEYWORDS in the ANCHOR TEXT, once again KEYWORDS in the ANCHOR TEXT, just in case you missed it KEYWORD ANCHOR TEXT!!!!

I love it JR! I am there with you, I am sick and tired of seeing all the Chrome shit everywhere!
The blogs that have the note saying use your real name, I leave. Hell with em!

Chrome? I’m waiting for Silver, Gold, or Platinum—LOL

I think the whole point is that people can do whatever they want with their blogs.
When I click someone’s name in comments I am clicking person, not bunch of keywords.Because that person and that comment interested me.
I don’t demand using names at my blog but I simply nuke to spam mindless copy-pasted “this-is-good-stuff” by “ton-of-keywords”.

You are right that people can do whatever they want with their blog. This was my personal opinion, and I have lots of commenters who get a nice backlink with their site KW for their comments that is a do-follow, and they do not right mindless copy pasted comments, they write valuable relevant ones.
I for one often click on the comment’s because I am interested in the subject of their website that I identify through keywords.
By the way, thanks for your post on CC Cleaner, it really helped me out!
@JR
I guess KeywordLuv plugin could be solution to person/site identity issue. But unfortunately it is not widely used, known and somewhat breaks common user experience.
I am thinking about modifying my theme to separate names and links in comments. So reader doesn’t have to do anything out of ordinary.
“By the way, thanks for your post on CC Cleaner, it really helped me out!”
No problem. You are blogging to help people figure out marketing, I am – to help them figure out software stuff.

Not entirely correct. The purpose of comments, regardless of plugin used, is for conversation in regards to the post above.
A conversation generally starts with a name. I for one think it’s just plain silly (being nice) to start with “Hello king of all marketing tips, thanks for stopping by”.
Now there are two acceptable alternatives that makes everyone happy, at least on my blog…..
You name or initials before or after keywords…like Tara did above…..
or at the very least, sign it at the end of comment.
Either way, reader get his/her keywords, blogger gets a name to associate.
I do assume we keyword haters are jaded. I’ll freely admit, that if 9 outa 10 purely keyworded names weren’t followed by totally useless posts that just get deleted anyway, I may feel different.
The damage is done.
Excellent post as always buddy, look for a link back from my own post soon. I may even keyword it

I always use a keyword and then my name. Some people do not like it, but I do it for the keyword and add my name so people can address me if needed. I did find a really cool plugin a few weeks ago I wish I could find again. It had an area for the name and then for keywords and it make comments look like…
Tara from keywords- then keywords were linked to the blog.

I believe the keywordluv plugin mentioned above is what you mean, just Google it

Yes it is KeywordLuv, here is the link: http://www.scratch99.com/wordpress-plugin-keywordluv/. With this plug in the name field would be JR @ Internet Marketing Strategies. I was thinking about switching to it since Ben from SEO Horror turned me onto it, but have been so busy with other things have not had a chance.

@Dennis,
I am glad you’re okay, I was worried about you in your absence.
Thanks my friend, I really appreciate that. It’s just double sucks when it’s mostly you’re own fault LOL

Sorry, I meant to add on the Chrome. I just back back from a 2 month outage to find at least 15 posts on it.
Everyone deleted, not even one read…how many browsers does one need?? LOL

Funny post. I love the fact that you tell it like it is. If you list site as do follow then why make people use terms or names for link. Makes no sense at all.

No it doesn’t and it drives me nuts, because I surely do not want to rank for my first name, do you?
