Another Google Page Rank Update!

I just accidentally discovered that Google is doing another Page Rank update. Surprising, since they usually update every 3 months, and the last one was on July 25th, but you know how it goes, Google is always full of surprises!

Check your sites! Not sure when update started so you may not see updates for a couple of days!

This blog went from PR0 to PR3 so, of course, I am very happy. One other site of mine went from PR1 to PR2, all other sites stayed the same, no increase and thankfully no decrease, considering I have not been working on them as much as I should.

Hopefully everyone’s PR increased. if not, do not worry just build more links for the next update. As I see it, page rank is not the end all but a reflection and a reward for your hard efforts in link building and climbing in the SERPS, all though I still believe that content plays a big role in SERPS, as I see lower PR sites out SERPING higher PR sites all the time!

CONTENT + LINKS = SUCCESS!

Page Rank is all about link building! And remember to diversify your link building and JUST BUILD LINKS EVERYDAY!!

So many people whine about what is not useful and worry about how reciprocal links may lose them traffic, and how directories are dead…and that link is no good because it’s a PR0…blah…blah…blah. While they are spending time worrying about nonsense, I am building links and rising in the SERPS!!

By the way, to those webmasters that said no to my reciprocal link requests because this blog was a PR0 can kick themselves now! See, that is the magic of PR0 sites they can only go up, so chances are when you link to them you will get a boost when PR updates and they rise!!! So feel good about linking to PR0 sites!!

Here is the formula I follow for link building:

40% – Article Marketing
25% - Reciprocal Link Exchange
25% - Social Bookmark Links/Forum Sig links/Blog comment links
10% - Directories

…and of course the standard On-Site SEO for every site!

Good on you!!! I felt the same way when I got PR 4 and I wanted to email those who hadn’t wanted to link to me.. Sometimes they just ignore you completely.
Anyway one of my pages dropped to PR3 so I am working like mad to fix it… When the PR changed the other day it left the home page at PR3 and made some inside pages 3 and 4.. I always thought that your homepage would be ranked higher as mine has around 1000 backlinks to it. What is the go with that… I am still happy though.

  Hi Computer Tips,
  I am not too sure about the inner page rankings, usually it is the home page that bleeds PR to the inner pages and so they increase, all though if you have a lot of links to the inner pages this might increase PR as well!

Congrats on the PR3 buddy! frogstr is still PR0, but that’s because it’s fairly new! I would probably have a higher PR if I stayed with seohorror.com, but that doesn’t matter for now, we’ll see on the next update! Some of my websites decreased in PR because I didn’t do much with them recently, but some increased, so it’s good!

I went from 0 to 2. Not a huge leap but since I am clueless in SEO and not really linkbuilding alot I guess that’s a lot for me.

JR … Congrats on the “3″ … that’s awesome news! Looks like all of the hard work you’ve put into your blog is paying off and I’m so happy for you. You do have a LOT of great information here and it motivates me to keep plugging away on mine. My BANS stores did fine … one from “0 to 1″ and one from “1 to 2″ and all my others sites stayed the same (better than getting lowered since some have been ignored as of late LOL). Good job!

  I have had lots of probs on many other Link Luv blogs where my posts do not show up at all, or a previous one shows up instead of the current. Sometimes I get curl 6 error as the reason, what WTF is going on??? and now it’s happening on my blog too, I !! Suzanne yours did not show up at all, we need a techie here!!!!

this update was not good for me, I dropped from pr4 to pr2. Anyways i will pickup from 2 to 4 the next update.

I’m so sick of Pagerank. My blogs never stay still, one update they are 3 then next 2. Then next 4, then next 3. Ughhh.

I give up on it, reall.y I know its about building backlinks, which i do. But i dont understand how it can go down.

For example, let’s say you have a blog and it is PR 3, and 1,200 backlinks is what was needed to attain that PR 3. If you don’t lose those backlinks, how can on next update, your blog drop?

Also how come totally new blogs, which have very little backlinks garner a PR 2, right off the bat on next update? Case in point: InsideWinona.com (brand new, not even a blog)

A blog of mine which was initially a PR 4, lost its rank to zero, then back 2. It’s been at 2 for like 3 updates now. Is there such a thing as being sandboxed at PR 2?

I seriously cannot figure it out, and it drives me nutZ.

  Welcome. I totally feel you, and I would not worry too much about it, it is SERP position that is most important after all and many times we see lower PR outrank high PR sites in those SERPS. I have heard many say that something is off with G PR algo because they see weird results as well.

hello , am just recently doing blogger….since before am focusing on my website to grow a bit………am doing all the thing from directories until free add classified.and now am gain Pagerank 3 for my site.Am doing it for almost 6 month. And now on am focusing on my blog……either my blogger and wordpress.but am still link building my blog since the subject is pointing to my webpage or subpage of my website.It is amazing how blog can be active tool to social with other.Do you have any suggestion on how am doing article marketing for mu niche.
And one more thing……..my website now is on pagerank 3 but in the SERP are still far away……..or it may my keyword are too competitive…………i will not give up.since is my hobby……am like it so much.That’s way i have blog to boost it more.

  Congrats, PR3 is cool, and probably the competition is the reason you are still listed far from page 1. Yes, I totally agree, blogs are very social and networkable, much more so than websites.
