I agree 100% with these extended promotional tactics. Yahoo answers adds 10% traffic to my site with only 20 minutes of work per week. it’s a gold mine.

You left out a few more great ideas:

#15 — get listed at Google Maps & Yahoo Local Business

#16 — get involved with the community at Yelp, Facebook

#17 — get reviewed by your customers at various UGC (user generated content) sites on the internet: CitySearch, CityVoter, Merchant Circle, Insider Pages

#18 –establish free listings at the UGC sites listed in #17, all will contain valuable backlinks to your site.

#19 — get listed at Kijiji, Gumtree, and other free sites

#20 — find all the RELEVANT forums of your particular industry (ones that have similar key words) and POST with Anchor Text in siggys at all DO FOLLOW forums.

All of these are excellent tips! Craigslist is a great tool every internet marketer should use! I have great results withe Craigslist.

Paid website reviews are also a great way to drive in traffic. Especially reviews on well know blogs.

Yes those keywords are highly competitive and when I started this blog, there were those who said I was crazy, that the competition was too “big”, but you know what, I believed in my ability to provide unique and helpful content and I don’t worry about the competition too much. From what I’ve read of your blog, you will do just fine.

And, yes these tips I provide really work, for IM/SEO blogs what is especially useful are the IM forums and blogs, post and comment as much as possible, provide links to your blog content and in your sig link.

Subscribe to high traffic IM blogs, like Shoemoney it’s an interesting blog and has tons of traffic and since it’s a no-follow comment, use your recent posts in the anchor, the cross traffic is great.

The paid reviews also work great!

Really nice article you just wrote.I will definitely put some of the techniques you talked about to the test. My SEO blog is still in early stage and getting traffic in the early days is always hard, especially for competitive niches like SEO/Internet Marketing.
