Here is a list of 70 + Social News and Bookmark Websites. The Social revolution is hot on the net and these sites are great Internet Marketing Strategies in promoting your websites and content.
Submit your website content and get backlinks (from do-follow link sites), promote your websites and expose your stuff to high traffic platforms.
Within these Sites there are two types, News and Bookmark.
The News sites, like Digg, basically allow you to submit news type stories and articles from your website to theirs and the members vote for them, the more votes the more exposure your submitted content gets.
The Bookmark sites are where you submit content/websites as a bookmark and the bookmark can be marked public so that other site members have access to your profile, bookmarks and a link to your sites.
You should also add these site’s “add” buttons in your own sites so your visitors are given the opportunity to vote from within your own sites. You can get the buttons individually by visiting the respective sites one by one, or you can add an all in one bookmark that you can get the code for at AddThis. You can see this button at the bottom of each of my posts.
I have added pertinent details, like Best!, News or Bookmark, as well as some pertinent Category specifics, so you can pick and choose what fits within your niches/themes.
If you do nothing else you should check out and submit your sites to the sites marked Best! (when applicable for your content as per categories).
I recommend that you use the same user name and password when you sign up, this way you don’t have to store and remember so many different profiles.
You can avoid having to submit to some of these sites one-by-one by submitting on auto pilot via Social Poster, which is free and allows mainstreamed submission from within their website and saves loads of time. They do not submit to all sites.
I use Social Bookmarking Submission Service to submit for me, it’s a great service, really saves a lot of time and very affordable.
Looking for More Do-Follow Resources, please see: 144 Do-Follow Forums By Niche and PR
Qassia – Best! PR5 – This one is really great, 100% do-follow. At Qassia you have to add articles or snippets of content, they call “Intel” on any topic and at the end of each of those you get a do-follow backlink to the site of your choice. You can add your pre-published articles or original stuff and earn Qassia dollars. The content can even be a couple of paragraphs, nothing fancy is required.
Spotback – Best! PR5 – Spotback has cool widgets to add to your blogs and websites for rating your content, simple little star boxes (see mine at the end of the post). Readers do not have to leave your blog, once they rate it, it automatically goes to Spotback! Also mouse over it and checkout how you can add tags without leaving the blog. Spotback has several options for widgets, as well as a Wordpress plug-in.
Stumpedia - Best! PR5
Very easy submit, picks up Meta Tags and has a bookmarklet for browsers. A human powered social search engine with 100% do-follow links, add your home pages and all sub-pages, choose categories and tag with relevant keywords.
Social Median - Best! PR5
Easy submit with bookmarklet for browsers. The key is to join news networks that are relevant to your sites, and there are many of them, or you can create your own. When you submit your content the readers in those networks get emails with content updates. Votes on Socialmedian are called clips and it does not take too many clips to get on the front page. I always get lots of traffic from them and traffic that subscribes and buys, go check it out, there is a lot going on there.
Squidoo – Best! PR8
Build some keyword rich lenses related to your sites topics and put 100% do-follow backlinks on them to your sites. Many of my lenses are PR3+ because they piggy back on Squidoo’s page rank and the backlinks are very valuable.
Make sure to follow the lens building instructions for optimal success at: How-To Squidoo – Steps to Building the Best Lens for Website Promotion.
Wikidot - PR7
Build wiki’s or mini sites on any topic and put in your do-follow backlinks.
Launch Feed – no anchor text, just URL. This one only allows you to submit your site once, so you can pick home page or a subpage.
Go Zoof - PR4 – Bookmark - This is one is good and is 100% do-follow.

Thanks Dave, I hope to interact with you more often, here and at 5 Star. I know it can be confusing, but once you do it for a while, it gets easier and easier.
The number of social bookmarking sites has exploded in the last year, leaving someone new the space probably a bit overwhelmed at where to start. If you are new to social networking understand that each social networking site is different, it attracts a different audience with different interests. Thus what interests someone on Reddit might not appeal to anyone on Digg.

Man I love reading yoru site and subscribed to it a month or so ago…so first I want to say thanks….especially for all the great lists of great sites…you are truly a resource for the Newbie and Master alike.
Now, I want to offer my confession to you. I am totally lost on what to do next…the answer is probably as plain as day but I am a Newbie to internet marketing and am really trying to get this thing rolling.
So, what I really want to know is this….I submitted my site to via 2 social posters like you recommended and as I did it I signed up for accounts on all of them. That was about a month ago and shockingly enough I got some traffic. I am going to continue to submitt to more sites like the ones you have posted, but that cant be it, can it?
Is it just submit once like a directory and move on, or are we suppose do something next like interact or or grab more sites….
I have searched the web to find more on Social Bookmarking sites besides just submitting them but I found nothing.
Could you write a new article that is a “no brainer” chapter 2……”Now that you have submitted to Social Bookmarking Sites You need to 1)………2)…….3)….etc.”?
I think that would be a great resource for your readers and definately myself included.
If not could anyone who reads this please post on where I can find that info….PLEASE!
thanks and happy New year to all!
~Eric

I am not sure what you mean by “what to do next”? Do you mean as far as submission?
That’s my point…for example, do you just submit to mister-wong or googletop once and then that’s it or after you submit your site and create an account is there a way to further your website into the social bookmarking network so that it keeps getting found daily? I would imagine that there has to be more to social bookmarking then just submitting your link once and then leaving it
Or is it all just to create one link and one backlink?
Follow Me on Twitter @: imstrategies
@Eric
No, initially you can submit your home page then what you want to do is submit on a regular basis, if you have a blog then you can submit your blog posts each time you post. If you have a static site then you can submit your content pages. Make sense?
Make sure you anchor the links with the respective KW for each page and you can also use the keywords for those pages in the title of the link and then add your site wide keywords as well.
Example Format:
KW Page Title | Main Site KW
Laptop Guide | Cheap Laptop Computers
make sense?
Now, be careful with Stumble, they will block those url’s that you submit too often, so just be easy there.
But most of the ones on that list are cool, like Mister Wong, Reddit, Magnolia etc.
Also, if you are using Social Poster, they do not include all the social sites you want to submit to.
Use my list and see which do-follow sites are not in social poster, I believe there are a few, like gozoof and googletop and then submit to those manually, they are worth it. Just set up a bookmark folder in your browser and save those that you will add to manually for easy access. Make sense?
I want to say thank you for all the sites, and the tips. keep up the awesome work!

JR, I have a question. Many of the sites I went to ask you to rate the site you are adding. Is it too self serving to add my own blog and give it high ratings? I am not sure how else to add my own blog?

No way, rate away and rate high! Not sure what you mean by add your blog?
BTW, be careful with Stumble, add your same url content sparingly, like home page and 1 other sub page, not all the pages of your site
